Stephanie Sayre has over 20 years of experience working with animals. She worked as a veterinarian technician prior to attending Moorpark College’s Exotic Animal Training and Management Program (EATM), where she earned degrees in zoo keeping, wildlife education, and exotic animal training & management. While at EATM, Ms. Sayre had the opportunity to work with a variety of exotic animals including a Bengal Tiger, mule deer, raccoons, tamarin monkeys, macaws, birds of prey and several other species. Since graduating she received her B.A., became a licensed Master Falconer (sponsoring several apprentice falconers along the way), and earned her certificate in Wildlife Rehabilitation. In 2010, she founded Wings of Discovery, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), dedicated to provide sanctuary to non-releasable birds of prey while using them as ambassadors of wildlife conservation.

Stephanie is a member of California Hawking Club, International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators, International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council, Holistic Health 4 Animals, and Veterinary Medical Aromatherapy Association. Birds have been Stephanie’s passion and focus for so long now that her own veterinarians will actually consult with her when it comes to the birds. In 2017, she was introduced to essential oils for her own health, but knew she needed to educate herself on what was safe to use around birds. Stephanie found out quickly that this was something that she needed to incorporate into her care for all her birds and other animals to help them thrive. But, this was also an area that a lot of people needed help in. So, she started on her journey towards educating herself as much as possible and getting certified in educating others so that many animals can benefit from these truly amazing gifts of the earth.
